REVIEW: Glowbal Brunch, Yaletown

Can you say, "YUM?"  Me and 4 boys went to Glowbal for brunch on Sunday, and boy, were we pleasantly surprised!

The service was impeccable.  We were given a complimentary dim-sum dish full of delectable cinnamon sugar mini-donuts, of which we devoured straight away.  C'mon, I was with 4 men!  Seeing this (and our non-discretionary hints that the dish was empty), our server promptly brought us another one, this time filled to the brim!

I had ordered the mushroom frittata. Dee-Lee-Shish!  Yum, Yum! Eggs were cooked to perfection- no brown spots, no break in the egg. The hash potatoes were crisp and tasty.  Jason's angel food cake fruit pancakes tasted like heaven, and the presentation was just as beautiful.  Everyone's dish (chicken wrap with crisp fries and creamy tomato soup for Jesse, eggs benny for George, and classic breakfast for Joel), looked amazing.  A++++

Have you tried Glowbal's brunch, lately?

REVIEW: 2012

I will admit, I'm not big on special-effects, manufactured, phony blockbuster movies.  I prefer intelligent, witty, well-acted films.  While I do enjoy the occasional mindless, mind-numbing, viewing of a celebrity-filled movie, I'm more excited by thoughtful, mind-provoking shows.

I watched the movie "2012" the other day.  The end of the world as we know it.  Raging tsunamis, explosive volcanic eruptions, underwater chaos.  Um.  Ok, I tried to pretend that I enjoyed the movie, but honestly, it just plain sucked.

Rolling of eyes, fidgeting in seat, sighing uncontrollably- that was me during the agonizing 2.5 hours of this movie!  The only reason I stayed was because my boyfriend Jason and I had been invited by another couple, and of which was our very first double date.  You know how you have to pretend you like talking about "him" on your very first one-on-one date?  This was exactly the case.  We couldn't just get up and leave because that would be rude.

Anyway, I realize that is a topic for another post, so I will leave it at that. But post your opinion about either.... the crappiness of "2012" (beware of posting your support for the movie!), or the dating sitch you may be in!  What's up with you?

Kwok's doggie

Ok, besides showing you my very cute puppy, Snowy, this was my first test to see how my blog works.  Cute, huh?  Snowy's actually not a puppy anymore... he's 15 human years old!  He still acts like a puppy, though- always cuddly, always happy to see you when you come home, always playful.  If you're looking for a cute, friendly puppy (only to humans), he's the one!

warning: this doggie is not friendly to other dogs, cats, squirrels, gerbils, hamsters, or other animals in general.  Babies are OK.  He is not friendly to toddlers who pull his fur, chase him around the house, eat his food.

Do you have a cute puppy to show off?
